Physio Matters has won BOTH of the awards it was nominated for in the Oldham Business Awards scooping ‘Employer of the Year’ and ‘Business of the Year’ with a turnover below £1 million.
The awards were announced at a Gala Ceremony at the Queen Elizabeth Centre, Oldham on 26 April attended by nearly 600 guests.
The great and the good of the local business community attended, hosted by BBC News Presenter Louise Minchin and ITV’s Caroline Whitmore, which saw a whole host of companies nominated across a wide range of categories.
Colin Green, Clinical Director at Physio Matters said: “I am absolutely delighted! It’s a fantastic achievement for our team and recognition for our dedicated staff. We hoped we might win one of the awards we were shortlisted for, but to walk away with both of them is unbelievable. It was a brilliant night to remember – I couldn’t be more proud of our work and the amazing people we have at Physio Matters. I’m an Oldhamer born and bred so to win these awards in my hometown is wonderful.”
There were three finalists in each category, with judging panels including representatives of the award category sponsors who reviewed all the business award entries before shortlisting the finalists. As part of the shortlisting process, the judges visited Physio Matters offices and interviewed the team to find out more. They were impressed with our dedication and team spirit.
All 560 tickets were snapped up well in advance as the local business community came together to salute the very best of Oldham enterprise.
Steve Kilroy, OBA steering committee chair, said: “You don’t realise just how diverse the Oldham business community is until nights like this. It’s fantastic. Businesses in Oldham continue to go from strength to strength, and that’s not just throughout the UK, it’s worldwide too.”
