Job Opportunity – Neurological Rehabilitation Assistant

Physio Matters are a growing Neurological Physiotherapy team providing high-quality community-based rehabilitation for people living with Traumatic Brain Injury, Stroke, Parkinson’s Disease, Multiple Sclerosis, Cerebral Palsy and neurological conditions such as Transverse Myelitis and Guillain Barre.

Our team currently comprises 6 Senior and Specialist Neurological Physiotherapists, a Specialist Paediatric Physiotherapist, a Neurological Rehabilitation Coach, and a Business Support team. We work with over 100 clients across Greater Manchester and further afield when required.

We work closely with clients in their own home or in a community setting, offering them tailored and individual physiotherapy to enable them to return to function as a result of their neurological condition. We specialise in helping people get back to daily life, vocational rehabilitation, treating severely impaired individuals, and therapeutic engagement. We also provide an expert neurological physiotherapy service to solicitors, case managers and their clients, as well as providing a personalised physiotherapy service for individual referrers.

What’s the job opportunity?
This role offers a fantastic opportunity to develop your career in neurological physiotherapy with a successful practice. We are looking for a Neurological Rehabilitation Assistant to join our growing team. You would need to be committed to helping our clients engage in creative physiotherapy treatment with an ability to think broadly in your approach to clients with complex disabilities. You will be self-motivated, efficient and able to work closely with the Physio Matters team and our wider Interdisciplinary Teams.

We are very keen to develop our staff. If you joined our team, we would invest in you to help develop your knowledge, skills and career in the field of Neurological Physiotherapy.

What will you be doing?
As a Neurological Rehabilitation Assistant, you will deliver bespoke physiotherapy treatments as recommended by our physiotherapists for a wide variety of individuals with neurological conditions. This may be working autonomously with a client or providing treatment alongside a physiotherapist.

You will deliver treatments at the client’s home, in community facilities such as gyms and hydrotherapy pools, at indoor activity centres such as skiing, walking netball and climbing, or at outdoor activity centres for kayaking and cycling.

We will give you all the support you need, including supervision and joint sessions with more experienced members of the Physio Matters team.  You will have access to our state-of-the-art client management system and work alongside our friendly Business Support Team who organise appointments, meetings, activity bookings and paperwork.

You will be involved in professional events alongside other members of the team, interdisciplinary training sessions, meetings, and a wide range of CPD opportunities.

How have we adapted during the COVID-19 Pandemic?

At Physio Matters, we now offer remote Physiotherapy interventions for all of our clients if we deem this necessary to maintain their safety, or if this is what the client is more comfortable with.

Each of our clients undergoes a thorough COVID-19 risk assessment prior to any intervention to ensure safety of both clients and the therapy team.

If you provide face-to-face physiotherapy for any of our clients, you will be provided with full Personal Protective Equipment to ensure yours and our clients’ safety.

What are the hours?
You will be expected to work 37.5 hours per week.  Most of our team work Monday to Friday between the hours of 9.00am and 5.00pm.

What’s the salary?
The salary for a Neurological Rehabilitation Assistant is competitive and will depend on experience.

What about travel?
The role involves working in the community, so there will be travel to and from client appointments. You must be able to drive and happy to use your own vehicle as part of your work routine. We pay a competitive mileage allowance for all travel.

What about benefits?
We offer a generous package of benefits including:

  • 33 days holiday a year including Bank Holidays (pro rata)
  • Pension scheme
  • Contribution towards Gym Membership
  • Flexible working hours where needed
  • Competitive mileage rate
