Keeping your skills and knowledge up to date are key when working in the diverse world of physiotherapy, which led Physio Matters team members Anastasia Giljazova, Senior Neurological Physiotherapist, and Katy Parrott, Physiotherapy Assistant, to attend a Careflex training day dedicated to postural management.
The course was a hands-on workshop demonstrating why seating is so important to maintain good posture, and how to select the right type of chair to meet the client’s need. It was presented by Rebecca Dunstall, CareFlex Clinical Specialist and physiotherapist, who specialises in the challenges of posture and pressure management
Physiology and posture
“The training day was very good,” said Katy. “Rebecca was full of information and advice on how to consider physiology, posture and the client when using the chairs from Careflex. We had the opportunity to try the chairs ourselves which helped us to understand and appreciate some of the issues involved more clearly.” Anastasia added: “This will definitely help us in our work at Physio Matters and we can continue to explore new opportunities for clients to benefit from posture management and specialist seating.”
