First Physio Matters Spotlight Webinar to Explore Serious Injury Litigation

webinar poster

Physio Matters are launching a new series of webinars to bring together brain injury professionals to explore topical issues, share good practice, and network online.

Called ‘Physio Matters Spotlight Webinars’ the series will enable professionals to meet, discuss and debate virtually in the absence of traditional face-to-face networking and events which have been halted due to Coronavirus restrictions.

The first Spotlight Webinar will take place on Wednesday 4 November 2020 from 12.00pm – 1.00pm and focus on “The Changing Face of Serious Injury Litigation due to COVID-19”. The Guest Speaker is Richard Biggs, Serious Injury Senior Associate, Irwin Mitchell LLP. He will be joined in conversation by Physio Matters’ team members Colin Green, Clinical Director and Kirsty Agnew, Specialist Neurological Physiotherapist.

Webinar focus

Litigation, as with the rest of the world, has changed significantly over the last 6 months. Delays in court hearings, fewer face-to-face assessments, and the wholesale adaptation to remote working by many who work with seriously injured clients are just some of the impacts of Coronavirus. But what does this mean for how serious injury cases are run? Not only now, but over the coming years?

To address these questions, the Spotlight Webinar will explore:

  • how litigation has evolved during the Coronavirus pandemic
  • the long-lasting impact on the way serious injury cases are run
  • how recent changes might affect the future of serious injury litigation
  • why these changes are here to stay and how to embrace them

Expert insight and practical examples

Richard Biggs will provide an expert insight in to how COVID-19 has impacted serious injury litigation and how it could affect practitioners’ role within the litigation process.

The webinar is aimed at case managers, therapists, medico-legal experts, solicitors and other professionals involved in serious injury cases who need to know about recent changes in the litigation process. It will explore the challenges practitioners face and offer practical guidance on how to overcome them. The webinar will also be illustrated with examples from recent practice.
